Saul - A Chosen Vessel

Introduction for Acts Lesson 9

Have you heard the saying, “The right tool for the right job”?  A saw is no good for driving nails nor is a hammer good for cutting a piece of wood.  Still, a task is made achievable if the approved tool is engaged.   It is also important to note that tools never compete for a job.  They are simply picked up and used.

In this same way, God shapes, prepares and chooses individual lives for specific tasks and callings.  One by one, He pours us out in service; upon lives, in situations and circumstances some anticipated and others unimaginable.

Saul, soon to be renamed Paul would be the vessel used to pour out the gospel upon kings, the Jews and the Gentiles.  Did you know that you are God’s chosen vessel being poured out for very distinct purposes?  Where and how is God pouring you out now?

Philippians 2:17 But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy.
